A total of 230 EMTs meet this Friday and Saturday at a technical Conference of working on the Catalan Health Plan 2011-2015, which will define the main lines of change and transformation of the healthcare system in Catalonia in the next few years.
Participate in the meeting, held in the Hotel Melià Sitges (Barcelona), professional associations, trade unions, employers, pharmaceutical and scientific societies, as well as industry experts, patients, users and professionals of the Ministry of health.
The Health Plan is a strategic document on the model of care for people, based on the analysis of the health needs of the population and instruments and resources available to Catalonia to give answer.
According to the law of management health of Catalonia, this plan must be approved by the Parliament of Catalonia.
For years, the system is facing new challenges arising from the ageing of the population, the increase in chronic diseases – new therapies and drugs – technological advances and economic – increased pressure on resources public.
These trends put at risk the system as it is known today, which is why health works in the formulation of a plan to respond to all these changes.
In this way, the goal of the day is to collect all contributions from the health sector in Catalonia to score the maximum consensus on the outlines of change and transformation.
Therefore ten working groups have been established: objectives and priorities of health until 2015, model of attention to chronic, enhancement of the capacity of the system, high specialization strategy resolution, citizens Center of the system, changes in the model of recruitment of the insurer, participation of professionals in transformation, Government and participation, information, transparency and evaluation and pharmaceutical care.
