95% Of women which detects early stage breast cancer survive 10 years after diagnosis.
Aguirre visited a mobile unit in detection of breast cancer – Mamobus ”-, on the occasion of world day against this disease.

Spain, 2011-October 95% of the patients who undergoing nicial breast cancer has been detected survive ten years after diagnosis. These data provided them last Wednesday, World Day against breast cancer, the President of the community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, in Alcobendas, where he visited one of the mobile mammography units – Mamobus ”-which, with the collaboration of the Spanish Association against cancer, account the Ministry of health for the implementation of the programme of early detection breast cancer (Deprecam).
The President took advantage of the Act to make an appeal to the Madrid to participate in the programme for early detection of breast cancer, so when they receive the letter of summons from the community of Madrid, will do mammography ”. Aguirre also recalled that the mortality rate in the community of Madrid from this disease puts a point below the average of Spain, which is the lowest in the European Union. Thus, in Madrid the rate is 17.3 deaths per 100,000 population to 18.2 in Spain.
Participation in breast cancer prevention programmes is an essential factor to reduce their impact. Thus, 70% of the cases detected by the Deprecam were in phase with what gets a better prognosis and allow a less aggressive therapeutic approach.
Breast cancer early detection program consists in carrying out every two years a radiological breast exploration to all women aged between 50 and 69 years, ages in which breast cancer is the leading cause of mortality.
Thanks to this program we have explored to more than one million women since its inception underway and 0.5 per cent of them were sent to diagnostic confirmation to a hospital because there was suspicion of malignancy.
These tumors diagnosed more than 14 ’ 4% has been detected in State primary, less aggressive. In those diagnosed in the usual care circuits, this percentage is below 10%.

Participation in these screening programs ensures the quality of diagnosis, which provides tranquility to women with negative results and the small group that presents suspicious results are offered, as well as a high probability of diagnosis in early stages, the use of some defined circuits of diagnostic tests and treatments.
Breast cancer is a tumor more frequent in Spanish women. In the community of Madrid, about 2,500 women receiving this diagnosis every year.
