Mexico, 14 mar (EFE).-the company Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex) announced today the signing of two contracts with companies in the United States.UU. Boeing Satellite Systems International and Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) for the construction, launch and orbit of a new satellite valued at $ 350 million.
The launch of Satmex 7 is scheduled for late 2014 or early 2015 from Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA)(UU.) using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, said in a statement the private company Satmex.
“Are very happy for Boeing and SpaceX as our partners in these agreements, which granted to Satmex flexibility to grow our fleet satellite”, said Patrick Northland, general manager of Satmex.
The Steering pointed out in the note that the transaction of Satmex 7 is part of an overall agreement in cooperation with Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) that involves the manufacturing and delivery of four defined satellites and four optional, all at fixed prices.
Explained that the purchase and delivery of these satellites will be governed by a master purchase agreement concluded between Boeing, ABS and Satmex, and shall be subject to agreements for the construction of satellites separately between Boeing and each of the buyers, i.e. Satmex and ABS.
“Satmex is positioned for a new era of growth with the launch of Satmex 8 laid down in 2012, and with the launch Satmex 7, our first satellite program Boeing 702SP for late 2014 or early 2015”, pointed out.
