Spain, April 2012.- the information provided by the tables of mortality, the Ivie produced from 2009, goes far beyond the life expectancy at birth. It is possible, as well as useful, enter details about the causes of death. In this way we have information, not only of the moment of death, but what has been the ultimate cause that led to the death.
These are the data that has been published for the period 1975 Ivie – 2009, from the homogenization of the international classification of deaths (CIE) since 1975 in 16 large groups of cause of death, and thereby extending your database of mortality tables. The work has been done by the researcher of the Ivie and Professor of the Universitat of Valencia Francisco j. Goerlich.
The information allows to examine how the distribution of deaths by cause of death has been altered and shows the differences that they exist according to sex and age. The latter represent for example, improvements in mortality will have effects very different life expectancy at birth according to the specific type of cause.
