Murcia, April 2012.- bio research is not only already reduced to the search for new drugs, but that now involves the use of genetic information, biological samples and epidemiological data from the clinical history. Therefore, today, the generation of knowledge involves more than ever the need for quality standards for the protection of human beings that contribute to that end ”, explains Dr. Javier Júdez, head of the area of research and innovation bio of the Foundation for training e Investigación Sanitarias in the region of Murcia and coordinator of the day present and future of the ethics of research bio in Spain ”.

The CEIC are the guarantors of the correction and the quality of clinical research ”, explains the expert. Its fundamental obligation is not neither with the promoters of the studies nor with the participating centres, but with the subjects of those investigations, who must protect ”, adds. Any work in this regard has always guided by the classical ethical principles: autonomy, charity, no harm and justice. However, the question is what are these premises, but in the way they have to manage in the analysis of research protocols ”. All this requires deliberation and prudence ”.

The day has been organized with the collaboration of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Farmaindustria and cooperation programme in clinical research and translational Murcia, and has been inaugurated by the Minister of health and Social policy of the region of Murcia, Mª Angeles palaces.
