Ciudad Real, April 2012.- The General Hospital ‘ La Mancha Centro ’ Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), dependent of the Government of Castilla – La Mancha, has organized the course ‘ Clinical immersion in surgery laparoscopic Rectal ’, through which six surgeons nationwide have specialized in advanced techniques of laparoscopic surgery rectal surgery and digestive health centre service-driven.
Through interactive theoretical sessions, videoforum and surgery live, the small group of Surgeons is has been able to register in this personalized training activity has known the main technical details of laparoscopic rectal surgery, has learned to describe and display in real-time the main techniques of laparoscopic rectal surgery, as well as the use of energy sources and devices of stapling and anastomosis in the aforementioned technique.

Content of the training
Teaching organized by the surgery service of the Mancha Centro began with two presentations, one about rectal cancer surgery, their indications and contraindications of the laparoscopic approach, and another on innovations in laparoscopic rectal surgery.
The course ‘ Clinical immersion. surgery laparoscopic Rectal ’ has continued today addressing the technical aspects of the dissection laparoscopic abdominal and pelvic cancer of rectum, the closure of the pelvis after abdominoperineal amputation and the prevention of incisional pericolostomÃa.
After the theoretical part, there have been clinical cases that have been operated on live at the on-site surgical meeting carried out simultaneously in two operating theatres. One of them has been an anterior resection of the rectum with ultra-low mechanical anastomosis and virtual Ileostomy, while in another the prone position rectal cylindrical abdominoperineal amputation has been practiced.

Manzanera and JoaquÃn Picazo — come Hospital Southeast of Madrid and of the Hospital ClÃnico Universitario Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) as well as other centres of the health service of Castilla – La Mancha (SESCAM)as the General Hospital of Villarrobledo (Albacete) and Hospital Gutiérrez Ortega of Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real).
