Paris, 9 March ( EFE).- A team of researchers has developed a new global map of Earth crust through observation and applications provided by the satellite enjoyment, said today the European Space Agency (ESA).
Known as mold area, located between the Earth’s outermost part, bark, and the first 50 kilometers of depth, place which concentrate resources, such as natural gas, oil and minerals was observed in investigation, dubbed Project GEMMA,.
This map measures the depth of this area of the planet, as well as allowing better understand the interior of the Earth and gravity with unprecedented resolution.
Enjoyment satellite images show the Earth with a precision never reached before, thus contributing to better understand the circulation of the oceans, keys to determine changes in the terrestrial energy and marine levels.
GEMMA project improves the projections made earlier, that to rely on data collected after the analysis of the earthquakes or gravity were inadequate.
The team of scientists responsible for GEMMA
was directed by the Italian expert Daniele Sampietro and funded by the Research Center “Politecnico di Milano” (Italy) and by ESA. EFE
