Spain, August of 2011- the community of Madrid on Thursday approved the Special Plan of inspection and Control of the temporary disability to theyear 2011, following the lines drawn by the same plan in 2010, which allowed saving to the regional administration about 28 million euros.
The President of the community, Esperanza Aguirre, announced that under the good results of the past year, the regional Executive has decided to extend this scheme of inspection of industrial casualties virtually all of the workers in the regional administration, to include the control staff of four regional councils moreas well as health, education and Social Affairs, where already applied ”.
Thus the plan this year will focus on the rationalization of the temporary incapacity of the staff of Vice Chair, Department of culture and sport and mouthpiece of the Government; of the Ministry of Presidency and justice; of the Ministry of economy and finance; and the Ministry of environment and spatial planning.
Aguirre recalled that Madrid was the first community in setting up this specific plan in 2010 fulfilled all its objectives and resulted in the reduction by at least 207.166 the days of unjustified casualties among the 140,000 professionals of the ministries of health, education and the formerly family and Social Affairs. This, as a whole, meant a saving to the budget of the community of Madrid of 27.610.286 euros.
In addition, the positive effects of this plan have continued in 2011 and, for example, in the first five months of this year the days of health workers have been 7,05 versus the same period of 2010 7,43.
Objectives of the Plan
The overall objective of the Plan for 2011, within the principle of strict social interest, is that the absenteeism due to temporary disability among workers in the community of Madrid meets real clinical needs, avoiding fraud and abusive or practices harmful to the whole of the workers in the regional administration.
Injuries or illnesses can limit or prevent the performance of some professions but not others. For this reason, health of the community of Madrid inspectors analyze each case carefully and act in a personalized way to adjust the length of the baja to the clinical needs of each worker.
Health inspectorates
Performances by more than 80 inspectors and almost 70 sub-inspectors belonging to the bodies of health inspection and which health, framed in the General direction of management and Department of health inspection be carried out for the achievement of the objectives of the plan in 2011.
