Community graced children hospitalized with storyteller on European traditions.

Madrid, may 2012.- La Comunidad de Madrid organized during all the week of Europe, from 7 to 11 may, in collaboration with various hospitals, storyteller allowing children who are hospitalized to learn about stories and traditionsas well as useful information of the European Union.

These training sessions and various taught storyteller children’s plants of the hospital Gregorio Marañón, child Jesus, Clínico San Carlos, La Paz, Ramon and Cajal and Doce de octubre, already are traditional activities surrounding the celebration of the Europe day on 9 May.

Also, during these fun and informative initiatives were distributed publications and teaching materials such as support and that, eventually, will be integrated into hospital libraries funds so that they can be consulted by patients.

The information point Europe Direct, attached to the Directorate-General for European Affairs and cooperation with the State, collaborated in this initiative and has a wide experience in this field, since it comes giving conferences and storyteller on the European Union for several years, aimed at students from schools in the community of Madrid.

Activities in libraries and CEPIs

In addition to these activities that bring the European Union to children, different libraries and centers of participation and integration of the community of Madrid (CEPIs) organize contests, exhibitions, talks, workshops and documentaries on culture, politics and society in different countries that are members of the European Union, during the entire month of may.
