Madrid, June 2011.- the Secretary General for Social policy and consumption, MarÃa Isabel MartÃnez Lozano, opened the Assembly General of the Confederation Española people with physical disability and organic (COCEMFE) which was held on 18 June in Hotel Rafael Atocha (c / Méndez Ãlvaro 30-32, Madrid).
More than 1,360 associations of all Spain have been represented at the meeting were analysed where the work developed by COCEMFE in 2010, as well as the evolution of policies related to the sector of persons with disabilities physical and organic and the effects of the economic crisis in the country is having on this collective.
During the meeting was also presented the 2010 activity report, a year in which the Confederation has turned in promoting equal opportunities of women with disabilities. The double perspective of gender and disability is present transversally in each of their actions.
In 2010 the Confederation has continued also betting on the employment and training, multiplying efforts to maintain the results of the last few years taking into account the context of economic crisis at the national and international levels. Fruit of this effort has achieved in 2010, through more than a hundred services of labour integration of its entities, the inclusion of 4.243 people. Of this number, 60 per cent in the regular market.
The Spanish Confederation of people with physical disability and organic (COCEMFE) is a non-governmental non-profit that was founded in 1980. It aims to unite, strengthen and form coordination efforts and activities of entities working in favour of persons with disabilities physical and organic to defend their rights and improve their quality of life. The entity brings together more than 1,360 organizations divided into autonomous confederations, State institutions and provincial federations which in turn, grouped to different local associations.
