March of Dimes offers advice for pregnant women and new parents.

White Plains, New York, August 24, 2011- PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE /-while residents from Florida to the Carolinas States are preparing for the first hurricane of the 2011 season, the March of Dimes organization urges pregnant women and parents of new babies to prepare for future emergencies or the need to evacuate their homes.

Families must follow the guidelines of preparation in the event of hurricanes and prepare a stock of emergency in the event that they have to evacuate their homes quickly.

The local chapters of March of Dimes and its website are good sources of information for pregnant women. The Centers for Disease Control and prevention of in the United States.UU also offer important information on how to prepare for a hurricane.

Although that pregnant women should follow the general recommendations of preparation in the event of a hurricane, as many including as new mothers also precautions special for themselves and their children.

March of Dimes offers the following emergency preparedness tips aimed at pregnant women and the new padres:

-pelvic pressure: the feeling that the baby is pushing down

-little acute pain in the lower part of the back

-cramping similar to the of the per(íodo

-abdominal cramping with or without diarrhea

2) pregnant women should pack prenatal vitamins or maybe an additional supply of vitamins without prescription, along with maternity clothes additional.

(3) Get their prescription drugs in advance. (

4) Have non-perishable food and bottled water. Try to have an assortment of food with high protein content and which are low in fat. (

5) New parents who may need to stay in a shelter should bring with you something sure where to put your baby to sleep like a portable crib, as well as extra diapers and other medical supplies Basic.
