at United Kingdom at the University of Bristol, has developed a new treatment, which guarantees the survival of preterm babies. This would reduce the risks of bleeding and damage brain.
Haemorrhages are one of the complications, most feared and dangerous for the baby. Since they are the leading cause of death of preterm babies. With this new technique intended to minimize and even eliminate the possibility of suffering a hemorrhage. the process is put in the anaesthetized prior baby two catheters in the ventricles. Through the tube placed back drains all blood and fluid that causes pressure, while the front tube introduces liquid already clean, similar to the natural cerebrospinal fluid which produces brain.
Treatment lasts between three days and a week, is practiced in neonates that they have already suffered no hemorrhage and are at serious risk. So far it has proved very successful and is expected to improve the technique.
