The Grünenthal Foundation with the quality of care in the treatment of pain.

-The Symposium pain management in the national health system ” has addressed the treatment of pain from the perspective of the management of health care

Murcia, 2011-October the Foundation Grünenthal has participated in the XXIX Congress of the Spanish society of quality healthcare with the Symposium pain management in the national health system ”, in which it has submitted the project indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain ” and Hospital without pain ”. This Congress, which is studied, from the rigor and self-criticism, the current situation of the quality of care in Spain, has taken place in Murcia from 4 to 7 October.

Indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain

Francisco López Soriano, the unity of the pain of the Hospital Comarcal of Northwest in Caravaca de la Cruz, has been submitted to the participants his project of construction of indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain ”.

Under the umbrella of the Foundation Grünenthal, FUINSA and the Faculty of Medicine of Murcia, 25 accredited professionals have established a multidisciplinary working group to define a core set of indicators of good practice of caring for the patient with pain. The purpose of this project is the optimize, improve information, and share results. I.e. whether ensures proper assistance, at the rate of correct patient, for the right reasons, and in proper time and the place ”, points López Soriano.

A Hospital without pain ”

For this Commission, the perception of pain patient plays a central role. For this hospital is also a priority training in the treatment and deal with the pain, so establishing a programme of training activities for that purpose (such as participation in conferences, rotations, or workshops of acute pain in adults and children).

National healthcare quality reference Forum

More than 1000 specialists have gathered that has become the national forum of reference for quality of care. The Congress, organized by the Spanish society of quality healthcare, studied the current situation of the quality of care in Spain from the rigor and self-criticism, and is structured in five thematic air: 1) quality in times of crisis; (2) Of the user to the informed patient can have how much changed?; (3) Quality and information systems: either with you or without you; (4) Patient safety: 10 years of progress and 10 more challenges; (And 5) quality management and quality management.
