Castellón, November 2011- the Minister of health, Luis Rosado, stressed on Tuesday after the meeting of the Council of Government of the Consortium hospital Provincial de Castellón evolution and modernisation experienced by the Centre, who has managed to become a benchmark in areas as important as the Oncology ”.

During the first six years of work of the Consortium service portfolio has been expanded with new specialties such as Pulmonology, plastic surgery and Reconstructive, intensive care medicine, Vascular Surgery, Hematology clinic, preventive medicine, Allergology and microbiology.

New cancer treatments

Brachytherapy, intraoperative radiotherapy, intraperitoneal chemotherapy, cryosurgery or radiosurgery are some of the new medical techniques introduced in order to improve the quality of care for cancer patients.

Also, the Consortium has created devices aimed at the prevention and early detection of cancer as the unit of genetic counselling and joined programs of screening ” of colorectal and breast tumors.

Collaboration agreements

The members of the Council today gave green light to several collaboration agreements with associations as the company of the daughters of the charity of St. Vincent de Paul to provide support partner-health for homeless at the social centre Marillac. convalencientes

other agreements include the provision of assistance on the premises of the consortium to the patients of the Association of multiple Esclerois and of the Foundation Borja Sánchez.

Program oral

After the meeting of the Council, was signed the Convention referred to in the renewal of the programme for the treatment oral of mentally disabled persons, an initiative of the Consortium, the provincial government and the Provincial Hospital Foundation.

The program allows that both children and adults with an intellectual disability of medium or severe degree hindering dental management do not have to go to specialized centres located outside the province of Castellón or go to private clinics.
