Moscow, 28 nov (EFE).-Russia today placed in orbit a Glonass-M satellite, which will be incorporated into the fleet of their global navigation GLONASS, analog system the American GPS, the military command reported Russian.
The apparatus was launched at 08.26 GMT from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, located in the Northwest of Russia, with the help of a rocket Soyuz-2.1b, a military spokesman told the official Russian Agency Itar-Tass.
It is to day, GLONASS satellites flotilla comprised 30 machines, 23 of which are in service operating.
For total coverage of the territory of the flotilla of GLONASS Russia must have at least 18 aircraft in operational service, with 24 to cover the whole of the planet.
