San Jose, 4 Dec (EFE).-La Teletón Costa Rica managed to collect 1.25 million dollars for children’s units of three hospitals in the country, which exceeded the goal of $ 1.1 million, reported the Organization of the event.
The Telethon, which brought together local and international artists such as the Kalimba, the Colombian Fanny Lu Mexican and Panamanians of Los Rabanes, ended the morning of Sunday after 27 hours of activities.
Organizers reported today that with donations from the public, private and public companies managed to 638 million colones (US $1.25 million) and was widely exceeded the goal of 550 million colones ($1.1 million).
The money will go to equip and improve unit Trauma and neonatology of the National Hospital for children, in San José, as well as that same unit of hospital Monseñor Sanabria, in the province of Puntarenas (Pacific) and Escalante Pradilla, the town of Pérez Zeledón (South).
The Telethon, that takes place each December, took place at the Palacio de los Deportes, in the town of Heredia, about 20 kilometers north of San Jose, where the public held with shouts and applause after overcoming the goal outlined.
