Madrid, 2011-December multiple sclerosis is a disease of chronic nature consisting of the appearance of degenerative lesions and demyelinating central nervous system. Depending on the affected site, may manifest different symptoms or alterations of the functions. There has been a follow-up of these patients (men and women) by measuring its quality of life, via scales validated for this purpose such as the Urogenital Distress Inventory, the Incontinence Impact Questionnaire and EuroQol-5 questionnaire prior to the injection of botulinum toxin. Four months after the administration of treatment, it was found an improvement in the continence of urine and, consequently, in their quality of life. Although it is known that the improvement of symptoms with the injection of botulinum toxin is temporary and is required to repeat the treatment, the results of the study indicate that the interval between injections in many of the patients had periods of 12-13 months. Others require repeat treatment in spaces of time more shorts.
