Madrid, 27 feb ( EFE).-the Minister of health, Social services and equality, Ana Mato, has today pledged to continue to pursue translational in high-mortality diseases research and advocated for this public-private partnerships.
Well said Mato after give Roche Fellowship in translational Onco-Hematology Dr. Aleix Prat, for a project that will allow test for the first time in Spain a new technology to determine the distinct molecular subtypes of breast cancer.
Mato has stressed that “it is still necessary to make a great effort to help reduce the gap between the results obtained in the research and its application to therapy, so that the patient has the most appropriate treatment in the shortest possible time”.
In this action is fundamental approaches to public-private collaboration, has considered the Minister.
The owner of health pointed out that cancer involves resources dedicated to research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment, “but it is also one of the diseases with greater social cost”, so “will require in its handling of a good coordination of health policies and social services”.
The Minister assured that the granting of the scholarship represents an example of those young professionals who have been trained in Spain, have carried out postgraduate studies at universities of great international prestige and returning back to Spain “to offer their talent and knowledge in the improvement of the national health system”.
Mato has recalled their commitment to a Pact of State public health and has urged all involved “the maximum commitment to the improvement of the health system”.
