AEPSO invites the open talk to the community about Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2011-September AEPSO (Civil Association for the Psoriasis patient) invites the community to the fourth lecture of the cycle of informative for people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in hospitals of the city of Buenos Aires AEPSO carried out for the first time with the support of COPIDIS (Commission for full participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities). The meeting will be held on Thursday September 22 at 11 pm. Hospital Dr. Cosme Argerich, Corvette Py and Margall 750, La Boca.
The talks are free and open, are aimed at people living with these disorders, their families and friends and will be provided by the medical rheumatologists and dermatologists from the hospital with the team of AEPSO.
Meetings emphasize the detection of symptoms, existing treatments and useful tips and tools will be to deal with the disease in everyday life. It will also provide information on the processing of the certificate of disability.
Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic disease that affects the joints, causing pain, stiffness and swelling in the joints. An estimated psoriasis affects 3% of the Argentine population, and can evolution in psoriatic arthritis from 6 to 42% of cases.
The disease can manifest itself between 20 and 50 years men and women. Skin psoriasis can reveal first in 75% of cases, appearing after 10 to 12 years psoriatic arthritis average.
Early diagnosis and proper treatment are fundamental to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve the quality of life and preventing thus a commitment and increasing damage to the joints. It is in this context that AEPSO organized with COPIDIS talks fact cycle in city hospitals to provide information on psoriatic arthritis, promote early diagnosis and emphasize the importance of treating arthritis in time lies in preventing disability that can generate the absence of treatment.
