Air Liquide confirms its commitment to the safety of patients
Air Liquide is one of the first industrial health which has signed the “Declaration of Helsinki to the safety of patients in anesthesia” during the 2011 Congress of the European society of Anaesthesiology in Amsterdam
Madrid, 2011-July this Declaration initiated by the European Board of Anesthesiology (EBA) and the society European de AnestesiologÃa (ESA) has been adopted by the anestesia-reanimación European societies as a whole as well as by the World Health Organization.
Each year, about 230 million patients worldwide are anesthetized for operation of general surgery and a number of them develops secondary complications to the intervention itself.
The Helsinki Declaration is intended to reduce these complications Recalling the good clinical practice – particularly the respect for preoperative and surgical safety check-list – but also the key role of the anesthesiologist in the safety of the care and the importance of cooperation between manufacturers of health and the medical community.
Long suppliers of medicinal gases committed themselves to the safety of patients in the hospital using, for example, codes of colours and fittings differentiated depending on the type of gas bottles.
