The usual measures are 120/80, so higher than these values suggest the presence of a condition called “hypertension”. This condition raises directly the risk that the person suffered multiple serious pathologies associated with the circulatory system, as accidents stroke, heart problems and even kidney failure.

Vinson worked with volunteers, suffering from overweight, or directly, obesity and had high blood pressure. During one month half the Group ate potatoes cooked in a healthy manner in the lunch and dinner while the rest not enjoyed at any time in this food. In the following month, the roles were invested so that all the volunteers ate potatoes for a month.
Contrary to what many “Dietitians” had been expected, the regular intake of potatoes not triggered change in body weight or fat and blood glucose level. On the contrary, the result of eating this delicious food was very good as decreased blood pressure of the participants.
Diastolic pressure fell 4.3% while the systolic fell 3.5%. That is why the authors concluded that potatoes are an effective agent to decrease blood pressure and that could be cooked under certain conditions could be a “healthy” food.
