Barcelona, December of 2011- the results of a review recently published in the journal of the American Headache Society, Headache, recognize aspirin as first line treatment for migraine or headache episodic (CTE). On the basis of the conclusions of this article that reviews different studies carried out on the subject, the acido acetilsalicilico is a treatment of choice in both situations regardless of the intensity of the pain.
In the publication, the authors (Christian Lampl, MD;) Michael Voelker, PhD; Timothy j. Steiner, MB, PhD) point out that although headache may be treated initially both with free dispensing drugs, as the acido acetilsalicilico, prescription drugs, there is a belief that prescription medications are more effective for pain relief or choosing the treatment is often determined by the level of intensity that is given the headache. However, the results obtained from the analysis contradicted this approach as they conclude that the acido acetilsalicilico can be effective as a first line for both migraine and episodic headache treatment, even when it’s a pain.
