Madrid, June of 2011- Grünenthal Pharma, pharmaceutical company regarding worldwide in the treatment of pain, launches its II art Prize dedicated to photography on the theme that the pain is only a memory. First prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and this second edition will present artists or groups of artists, Spanish or Portuguese, or of other nationality if they reside at Spain or Portugal.
a jury composed of prestigious personalities from the arts and medicine, will analyze the submitted works appreciating its artistic quality and its relevance to the theme of the contest. It is formed by D. Oscar Alonso Molina, art critic and independent curator, Dr. Manuel Alberto Camba, President of the Spanish society of pain, Dr. Duarte Correia, President of the Associaçao Portuguesa para o Estudo da Dor, D. Pierre Gonnord, photographer, Ms. Ivânia de Mendonça Gallo, Director of the fair of art contemporary art Lisbon, D. Alberto Schommer, photographer, D. Guillermo Solana, Chief Curator of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and as the Secretariat of the same, Ms. Angelika Grundmann.

shall be granted a first prize endowed with 10,000 euros, which may not be divided, and three honorable mentions Honorable. photography awarded the first prize will be edited by its author as a single copy and will become part of the collection Grünenthal.
the participating artists must submit a single photographic work, consisting of one or several images, freely in the photographic technique used, under the overall theme of the pain relief and produced expressly for this call. Works that have been previously submitted in another contest will not be accepted. Also, participants must submit a test print of the work in the format deemed appropriate not exceeding the extent of A3, accompanied by a detailed description of the materials and dimensions which will present the work in case of being selected.

Air Liquide confirms its commitment to the safety of patients
Air Liquide is one of the first industrial health which has signed the “Declaration of Helsinki to the safety of patients in anesthesia” during the 2011 Congress of the European society of Anaesthesiology in Amsterdam
Madrid, 2011-July this Declaration initiated by the European Board of Anesthesiology (EBA) and the society European de AnestesiologÃa (ESA) has been adopted by the anestesia-reanimación European societies as a whole as well as by the World Health Organization.
Each year, about 230 million patients worldwide are anesthetized for operation of general surgery and a number of them develops secondary complications to the intervention itself.
The Helsinki Declaration is intended to reduce these complications Recalling the good clinical practice – particularly the respect for preoperative and surgical safety check-list – but also the key role of the anesthesiologist in the safety of the care and the importance of cooperation between manufacturers of health and the medical community.
Long suppliers of medicinal gases committed themselves to the safety of patients in the hospital using, for example, codes of colours and fittings differentiated depending on the type of gas bottles.
