Ballesol bets on good hydration of their elders

-Three centres Ballesol participated in the campaign age & life on hydration of older people

-more than 60% of the over 50 recognized hydrate way insufficient.

Madrid, August of 2011. As befits the constant concern for the well-being and health of the elderly, Ballesol participated in the second edition of the campaign of hydration age & life ” organized by age & life Foundation with the collaboration of Aquarius.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of proper hydration to prevent possible States of dehydration in the elderly because of the heat. In fact, as was demonstrated recently in the study on attitudes and healthy behaviors of the elderly in their hydration, the Foundation age & life, elaborated with the collaboration of the Observatory of the behaviour: society and consumption of ESADE and the Coca-Cola Foundation, more than 60% of the over 50 recognized hydrate inadequately, that does not eat the recommended minimum of 2 litres a day.

For this reason, were distributed over 18,000 bottles of 1.5 litres of Aquarius, as well as general recommendations on hydration, in about thirty residences of all Spain, being Ballesol centres chosen for this event:

-Ballesol Gijón 1 August
-Ballesol Salamanca, Santa Marta de Tormes on August 2,
-Ballesol La Victoria, of Valladolid on August 2,

of specialists to ensure good hydration recommendations include that it should drink before waiting to be thirsty, take 6 to 8 glasses of fluids per day (juices, water, milk, tea and soft drinks), consuming drinks with a moderate amount of sugars and minerals that help the rehydration, or increase fluid intake to situations which may promote dehydration, among others.
