Brussels, 2 sep (EFE).-the President of the EC, Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, and Commissioner for the climate, Connie Hedegaard, will visit next week Australia and New Zealand to discuss greater cooperation in forums such as the G20 and continue talks to curb change climate.
Barroso will stay from 4 to 7 September at Australia, where it will meet with the Prime Minister of the country, Julia Guillard, and other political leaders and business representatives and civil society, the spokesman for the European (EC) Alejandro Ulzurrun Commission announced in a press conference.
With the Australian authorities will address enhanced cooperation in the G20 (a group of developed and emerging countries) and other bilateral issues such as the achievement of a new agreement between Australia and Euratom, the Community European of energy atomic.
In New Zealand, from 7 to 9 September, wicked head of the EU Executive will interview with the Prime Minister, John Key, and other political actors and civil society.
Next to Hedegaard, will participate in the Forum of the Pacific Islands from 6 to 7 September in Auckland (New Zealand), where they will meet with leaders of countries in the Pacific, for which the European Union (EU) is the second largest donor of aid.
Hedegaard activities will focus on discussing the positions with a view to the forthcoming United Nations Conference on climate change to be held in Durban (South Africa) at the end of this year.
