Data from Ministry of Health indicate new record donations of organs in Brazil and sustained growth of transplants. The number of effective donors grew 14% in just one year. In 2010, 1,896 were registered donors against 1,658 the previous year.
With this performance, Brazil reached the historical mark of 9.9 donors per million people (pmp). This increase is due to the strengthening of the national system of transplants (SNT) and the increasing contribution of resources in the
sector.
