Miami (USA.)(UU.), 2 sep (EFE).-agents and trappers of Florida (USA).(UU.) looking for a Cayman attacked last Wednesday in Collier County to the West of Miami, to a 90-year-old woman and caused him such injuries that doctors had to amputate a leg, local media reported today.

Margret Webb stood next to a canal in front of his home in a rural area to the South of Florida, when an alligator about 2.5 meters attacked her and dragged into the water after arrest leg.

A driver passing by the area saw what was happening, stopped his vehicle and tried to help women to free themselves from the reptile that was subject for a leg, said a spokesman of the Commission for the conservation of fisheries and Fauna.

Authorities said the man, Dwain Daniels, managed to get out of the water women and subsequently fired the reptile, although they could not specify if he injured.

Transferred to a hospital in the area, doctors had to amputate the women left at the height of the knee leg and heal the other, showing also wounds.

The woman is hospitalized in condition stable.

Alligators are especially active in this season of the year, when the water level is at its highest point, although the attacks of these reptiles are rare without mediate a provocation.
