COCEMFE celebrated a few days to combat gender-based violence
-The Conference will focus on the prevention of violence against women with disabilities
– account for about 60% of the total population with disabilities in our country
– the meeting will be held from 25 to 28 October in the castle of San Servando de Toledo
Madrid, 2011-October the Spanish Confederation of people with physical disability and organic (COCEMFE) celebrates a year more the training seminars on women and disability from 25 to 28 October in the castle of San Servando de Toledo, being in its ninth edition by title awareness and awareness of violence against women with disabilities ”.
The opening ceremony took place yesterday at the Castle San Servando de Toledo (rise of the Castle s/n) and was entrusted to the Director-General of elderly, disability and dependence, Juan José GarcÃa Ferrer, Secretary of organization of State COCEMFE, Roser Romero Soldevila, and the President of the Regional Federation of women with disabilities, Moon Castilla – La Mancha, Ana Quintanilla GarcÃa.
Organized within the Technical University of COCEMFE, in collaboration with the National Confederation of disabled women, the Conference aimed to raise awareness, analyse and make proposals to the demands of the women of the group, representing almost 60% of the total population with disabilities in our country.
This year the prevention of violence against women in the field of disability will be the central theme of the Conference. In this way aims to make visible a hitherto unknown problem that requires a deep approach and brought before the authorities and society to seek solutions.
Also, during this meeting will be presented the various actions included in the program of prevention of gender violence COCEMFE has been developed throughout 2010.
The Spanish Confederation of people with physical disability and organic (COCEMFE) is a non-governmental non-profit that was founded in 1980. It aims to unite, strengthen and form coordination efforts and activities of entities working in favour of persons with disabilities physical and organic to defend their rights and improve their quality of life. The entity brings together more than 1,360 organizations divided into regional confederations, State institutions and provincial federations which in turn, bring together different associations premises.
