Spain, October 2009.- LEO Pharma laboratory launched a journal on psoriasis today 29th October, on the occasion of the celebration that day of the world day of this chronic disease of the skin which affects more than 650,000 people in Spain. The newspaper will be distributed with a free daily newspaper in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Sevilla, Oviedo, Gijón, A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela.
Under the title Psorinfo, this edition only for this day newspaper, aims to inform psoriasis among the general public. Its contents include an interview with the President of the Spanish Association of patients action Psoriasis, interviews with dermatologists, the testimony of a patient who suffers from the disease for more than 50 years, as well as information on the disease, its causes and consequences, treatments, and tips for living well with psoriasis, among other content.
The day
Held for the first time in 2004, are already five made editions of the world Psoriasis day. This day, that programme activities around the world, is intended to inform this disease that affects 125 million people in the world and on which weighs even a great ignorance. Another objective of this workshop is to include psoriasis on the agenda of Government health departments, and that they are aware of the scope of the severity of the disease.
LEO Pharma laboratory
For years this laboratory projecting their research, through Foundation LEO Pharma, towards the search for new and better treatments for psoriasis, by now a chronic and incurable disease. With the newspaper Psorinfo the laboratory aims to promote understanding of psoriasis in Spain and help eliminate some of the barriers faced by patients of the disease, often faced social rejection caused by ignorance of it, as for example the false belief that it is a contagious disease.
