MEXICO City (Reuters) – a strong earthquake struck on Wednesday off the coast of the Pacific of Mexico, causing alert in the capital of the country, without that report damage until the time.

the geological service of the United States (USGS) said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0, after giving an initial report of 6.9, with its epicenter in the coasts of the central State of Michoacan.

the Mayor of the city of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, said via his Twitter account that strategic capital services are functioning, and that were not recorded damage during the first reports air.

“the city without major, damage all services operating without novelty,” wrote Ebrard.

the epicenter of the quake was located at 65.6 kilometers deep, about 130 kilometers from the city of Uruapan, Michoacán, and 336 kilometres from the popular resort of Acapulco.
