Guatemala, 9 mar ( EFE).- two men infected with influenza AH1N1 virus died today in the two main public hospitals in Guatemala, one of whom remained on alert yellow and quarantine since yesterday, medical sources reported.
The director of the State hospital San Juan de God, Fernando Solares, said at a press conference that a 52-year-old man, died in that facility that was in an area isolated from him was detected and confirmed the disease.
On the other hand, hours later another man of 59 years, originating in the northeast of the country, population died as a result of the same infection in hospital Roosevelt.
The director of that facility, Hector Barrios, said that the victim was in the intensive care room, and had been medicated but by advanced disease died this morning.
Also reported that in this hospital are admitted two others who have given positive laboratory tests, which have been isolated in.
The health of the country authorities decreed from on Tuesday warning yellow and quarantined in the hospital San Juan de Dios, the mayor of Guatemala, after confirmation of the contagion of the deceased and the other eleven suspected people, including four children and two doctors, whose cases were dismissed today by the authorities.
According to the Ministry of health, in 2012 so far confirmed four cases of influenza H1N1 in Guatemala, where appeared the disease for the first time in May 2009.
