– under the motto, information is health, the main goal of these talks is promote prevention in health and inform the public on the latest developments in different areas of medicine
-the first Conference held today, hand in hand with Javier Alfaro, recognized Podoactiva Podiatrist and collaborator of hospitals in Aragon and La Rioja Viamed
-at the end of each Conference will open a symposium where attendees may raise its consultations to each presenter. Admission is free
Huesca, February of 2012.- the Hospital Viamed Santiago de Huesca and the Social work Ibercaja have launched the I Edition of the classroom of health, an initiative with which both entities aim to promote the prevention and health care among the citizenry, from the guidance and the nearby information.
To this end, a series of three conferences that taught specialists of recognized prestige in Aragon and proven experience on the latest advances in different fields of medicine have been organized. According to LuÃs Gómez, Managing Director of the Viamed hospital in Aragon, talks were articulated in a tone close and understandable, where doctors will provide information and guidelines for help on how to prevent, detect early and treat properly certain diseases which today limit the quality of life of the population and constitute in some cases health threats most important in developed societies ”.
At the end of the Conference, with free admission, will open a discussion among the attendees, with the rapporteurs.
Health classroom will begin today, Tuesday, 21 February, with the first Conference on ” Biomechanics of the foot, the importance of stepping on well ”, given by Javier Alfaro, prestigious Podiatrist Podoactiva and collaborator of hospitals Viamed in Aragon and La Rioja. Dr. Fernando Sarasa, football and handball Huesca Huesca Club doctor will also speak as rapporteur. These experts will explain the most frequent pathologies affecting our feet, both in daily life and in sport and will address the importance of the study and treatment of the feet, fundamental in the elite and amateur sportsman.
The following conferences will be on March 20 with the team of Traumatology of the Hospital Viamed Santiago, which will try the growth factors and on April 17 on ophthalmology, blindness in the adult, where patterns of help will be offered to prevent and treat certain pathologies.
February 21, first Conference
Javier Alfaro Podiatrist says that feet give us support, work almost all the time, but even so, usually remain forgotten and usually only attention them when they begin to fail or produce discomfort, almost never to prevent ”.

After almost 20 years researching in the field of the Podiatry and biomechanics, which began with a small query in Huesca, expanded its coverage to various headers in the Alto Aragon region and now its dimension encompasses an extensive national network of centres of advanced podiatry care for more than 20,000 patients per year.
Alfaro works most days at the headquarters of Podoactiva, in the Walqa technological park (Huesca) where the Department of technology, allowing you to study sports gestures more accurately, improving protocols and developing new projects related to different sports as football, skiinggolf and basketball.
