Elsevier launches the new edition of his, one of the most used in the world of Anatomy
-The 23rd edition of Sobotta Atlas of human anatomy, is completely renewed, adapted to the new times, new technologies, and of course, to the new needs of the students.
Madrid, January of 2012. The study, complex, and arduous of anatomy is essential to the need for highly structured content and valuable training to facilitate learning.
Therefore, Elsevier offers a new edition of the classic Sobotta Atlas of human anatomy, one of the texts of Anatomy most used in the world, which at its 23rd edition appears totally renewed, adapted to the new times, new technologies, and of course, the new needs of the students. Since the first edition in 1904, this Atlas has become a reference book for teaching and study of the human anatomy.
Sobotta has evolved and grown in volume, new prints have been added and new images of different diagnostic techniques have been incorporated by image. In this sense, one of the most important developments for the reader is the incorporation of a brief explanation of the image that is not limited simply to the wording of the same, as it was the case up to now, but it also sets out how has come to her through the process of dissection, or what are the most important data relating to the image displayed and may serve to clarify concepts ”, explains Dr. VÃctor Götzens, Professor of human anatomy. Faculty of medicine, University of Barcelona.
The 23rd edition of Sobotta is structured in the following way: volume 1 – general Anatomy and locomotor-, volume 2 – organs internally- and volume 3 – head, neck, and neuroanatomy. Also included is an offprint, which incorporated tables of muscles, joints, and nerves. It consists of more than 1,000 pages and 1,500 detailed color illustrations.
This edition offers a number of advantages that provide greater conceptual clarity and balance of iconography and texts. These improvements are based on a design entirely renovated and reorganized; reduction in the level of marking of the figures, highlighting in bold the most important; explanatory text boxes in more complex structures; and more homogeneous organization of chapters, both indoors and at the beginning of the chapters.
www.e-Sobotta.com
www.e-sobotta.com (in English), is one of the great innovations of this new edition. It’s an easy navigability and web use, which becomes a tool of great educational value. This multimedia content is based on a large number of downloadable images (over 1,500), a collection of large size autoimprimibles illustrations (more than 300), and a tool for self-assessment of high educational value.
The current information technology is widely focused towards the image and Sobotta could not be outdone. Why has incorporated access over the network to a base of anatomical, clinical, images of diagnostic image, etc., to supplement to his in the most complete tool ”, points out Dr. Götzens.
