(www.neomundo.com.ar) teens with a good physical condition and who perform exercise on a daily basis better control your appetite, present a better pattern of energy consumption and less body fat, concluded a research.
Researchers at the University of Granada (Spain) argued that these improvements appear to be related to the metabolic changes generated by the activity physics.
Obesity in young people
This study could help to combat the current obesity epidemic, which also affects children and adolescents around the world. It is estimated that 70% of obese children grow to be adults who carry this disease and the risks to their health.
In the case of adolescent obesity increases short-term risk for problems in the spine and feet, evils breathing (as a sorry sleep), stretch marks and skin hanging, as well as psychological conditions and difficulties to interact with their peers. Long-term obesity can produce them multiple complications such as cardiovascular problems and the development of diabetes type 2.
The study
researchers worked with 3,800 children from 12 to 17 years to analyze the effect of nutritional habits and lifestyles in their health, taking into account factors such as fitness, exercise and profile hormone.
To analyse these data, the authors noted that young people with good physical condition who did some sport had higher levels of insulin and leptin. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, decreases the level of glucose in the blood and is related to type 2 diabetes. Leptin is produced by fat cells and is related to the control of appetite and energy expenditure.
In turn, results showed that the sport boys and in the form generally have much less body fat than the young people of their age with habits less healthy.
The researchers believe that this positive association is related to the metabolic changes arising from the exercise on the production and release of insulin and leptin.
