four hospitals in the Valencia region bind to the INCATIV research group

Valencia, March 2012.- INCATIV research groupcreated in the Hospital Arnau Vilanova, has given welcome to three new health centres in the region of Valencia. Hospital ClÃnica Benidorm, Torrevieja from Hospital USP San Jaime, Hospital General de Valencia and the Hospital of the Marina Baixa join this project which already counts with the participation of 19 health centres.
The new members have received a training session in field researcher (IC – INCATIV) and researcher Coordinator of Center (ICC – INCATIV), in the Hospital Arnau de Vilanova. Want that they receive the best possible training to make the project a success ”, notes Jose Luis Micó, Supervisor of preventive nursing of the Arnau Hospital of Vilanova and head of the research group.
INCATIV is an ambitious project that arises from the need to deal with everything related to the boarding and intravenous therapy and has as its essence and mission do things well, differ in the details and equal in essence ” indicates Jose Luis Micó.
The project proposes the incorporation of indicators for the measurement of the quality of nursing services that will enable the development of their own projects and programs of continuous improvement work teams and managers. The Group promotes and disseminates the creation of the ETIs in hospitals (intravenous therapy nursing teams) and promotes the venous heritage of patient management ”, point.
Through participation in the study professionals acquire new and useful tools to achieve improvements for example rates infections related with health Assistant (IRAS), the reduction of long stays or also the cost reduction by the adverse effects attributable to intravenous therapy.
Is a work of all where to achieve quality and safety, both the patient and medical personnel, is the main goal ”, points.
The INCATIV study is developed in collaboration with the Directorate-General for healthcare quality, Department of health, the Council of nursing of the Valencian Community, the Spanish society of preventive medicine and public health and a group of nurses with research and teaching vocation.
