Seville, 6 mar ( EFE).-the Minister of health and Social services, Ana Mato, has advocated a “ Covenant sociosanitario” so as to ensure the viability of the system and that all Spaniards can receive better health care “regardless of where they live” in Seville.
“In such difficult times in which the Government asked citizens an effort to overcome the crisis, administrations have to ensure the efficiency of its objectives as well as the efficiency in their policies,”, said the Minister.
Mato has signed with the President the Spanish Federation of municipalities and provinces (FEMP) and Mayor of Seville, Juan Ignacio Zoido, an agreement to facilitate the Telecare.
In his speech following the signing, Ana Mato has recalled the inauguration speech of President Mariano Rajoy, which gave priority to the “maintenance and improvement of the welfare system” and to “improve social policies.”
Therefore, the Government has requested a special something more than 30.5 million euro credit to keep the Telecare programme in 5,535 municipalities of all Spain of them 317 in Andalusia.
The Minister has stressed the “social and human profile” of this program that assists people in dependence, disabled and elderly people living alone, which constitute 60% of their users.
Tele-assistance program is one of the of “greater social impact”, because, according to Mato, it gives service to 250,000 Spaniards, of which 30,000 are Andalusians.
At the signing of this agreement between the FEMP and IMSERSO, Juan Ignacio Zoido has pointed out that “helping the most vulnerable is an obligation”.
Following the signing of the Convention and Zoido Mato have moved to the neighborhood of Los Pajaritos, one of the most degraded areas of the city of Seville, where had a meeting with residents of 525 municipal housing rent.
