The healthcare industry is at a crossroads with regard to the management of data, due to the exponential growth of data from patients, to increasingly strict Government and sectoral regulations, some budgets you down and full transition to the electronic clinical histories. Building on the partnership kept under this program, both companies will integrate the storage software of NetApp ® StorageGRID ® objects with two solutions of archiving medical data Iron Mountain – Digital Record Center ® for Medical Images and its solution of filed neutral independent manufacturer – to provide solutions to health organizations of filed consolidated and disaster recovery to help them improve assistance medical supply their patients.

Archiving and disaster recovery based on cloud, with higher levels of flexibility, scalability, access and security of the complex and diverse assets of large data, can help to eliminate problems related to the interoperability of systems and recovery disaster, moving the data to the exterior while maintaining their independence compared to existing systems. Joint solutions from NetApp and Iron Mountain offer market proposed innovative cloud enable health organizations:

-Control storage growth and reduce costs. Cloud storage offers a payment model for safe and flexible use. Health organizations use so only what they need and avoid large capital expenditures required for proprietary storage solutions and long term. Operating costs associated with storage are usually three or four times more of the cost of maintaining the hardware involved; storage cloud solves this problem with a low-cost approach.

-To improve disaster recovery and regulatory compliance. Move the data out to the cloud represents a faster disaster recovery capability, at the same time minimizing the cost and risk of data loss. It also allows organizations to meet current standards in accordance with HIPAA, requiring a plan and disaster recovery policies to protect these data.

-Reduce the complexity of management. It departments no longer have to manage multiple storage systems with the interoperability problems that this entails. As a result, medical data are released, facilitating access and exchange of information throughout the health care chain. And, as a managed service, the data are transferred automatically and continuously to the outside and archived, freeing up staff and resources you in the management of the centres of data and tasks of archiving and backup, to focus on clinical activities and income generation.
