Madrid, December 2009.- the Hospital Carlos III of Madrid has reached the figure of 50,000 operations major outpatient surgery and short stay patients since its inception in motion. In particular, there have been so far a total of 50.724 interventions. The Center has three operating theatres operating in morning, using one of them also in the afternoon.
In these operating theatres are interventions of general surgery, orthopedic surgery, Otolaryngology and Pediatric Surgery among other specialties.
Service of surgery and anesthesia in the Hospital Carlos III boasts a level of overall satisfaction of your patients of 93,2%, according to the survey of hospital satisfaction by the Madrid health service. Patients include the degree of information about the care at home, with a 95% satisfaction; the time of dedication of doctors with 93,2%; or the competence and expertise of practitioners, with 93.8% of degree of satisfaction.
The Center has four anaesthetic, four general surgeons, eight nurses, four assistants and three caretakers. This team also shares facilities with professionals of the October 12 hospitals and La Paz, that operations at the Carlos III specialties of these centres.
Consultation prior to the operation is high resolution, therefore, on the same day, the patient passes by the surgeon and the anesthesiologist and also assigned date for its operation, indicating the hours and the conditions in which call center.
Also, after the intervention the patient recovers in a single room which can be accompanied by his family.
After discharge, the patient receives a full medical report and the agreed date which has to go to review. In turn, Carlos III has assigned to the surgery service six beds of hospitalization for short stay interventions.
