IMQ honored Athletic Club and UPV, as well as the 130 students that offer health care at San Mamés, in a solidarity dinner.

Bilbao, March 2012.- IMQ has organized on last Thursday night a dinner tribute to 130 students from UPV providing every weekend assistance health in the San Mames field, which was attended by all students, as well as representatives of the three entities responsible for healthcare in San Mames: IMQ, Athletic and UPV, forming a consolidated Alliance for years.

Was dinner, which took place at 21: 00 in Bilbao society, also attended by representatives of the Athletic Club and the UPV, such as the Rector of the University of the Basque country, Iñaki Goirizelaia; the Vice-Rector of the Biscay Campus of the UPV, Carmelo Garitaonandia; the Dean of the Faculty of medicine, Agustin Martinez, as well as the player’s Athletic Club Carlos Gurpegui, among others.

After dinner, a raffle of shirts donated by players in the first squad of Athletic Club, whose funds will be used to participate in a solidarity Rally whose purpose is to distribute aid was – material health, school and sports-in Moroccan schools.

Solidarity draw

Once finished dinner, attendees have the opportunity to participate in a solidarity-based initiative launched by responsible for healthcare in San Mames of IMQ, Nacho Rozas, to raise funds. Responsible for IMQ will participate along with Jorge Vilallonga, in the classic Rally of Atlas, whose objective is to distribute aid – specifically material health, school and sports-between Moroccan schools during the eight days that lasts the circuit. The rally will begin on 31 March in Seville and will end in Marraketch after 1,800 kilometres.

With the goal of raising funds, Nacho Rozas and his co-driver in this adventure of solidarity, Jorge Vilallonga, have organized a solidarity raffle t-shirts donated by players in the first squad of Athletic, to acquire the school material needed to distribute among African children. Medical supplies has been donated by the Clinica Vicente San Sebastian, while the Athletic Foundation is responsible for donating sports equipment.

Caring for 38,000 people

The Alliance with IMQ, Athletic and UPV has its origin in the agreement signed in the season 98/99 between IMQ and Athletic Club by which the insurer guarantees coverage of the Athletic Club teams and assists the public in the matches played in San Mamés. Likewise, these assists are also possible thanks to the collaboration between IMQthe Faculty of medicine and dentistry and the school of nursing of the UPV.

Thanks to this agreement, IMQ provides healthcare to 38,000 people to witness Athletic Bilbao at San Mamés parties and is the official health insurer of all the members of the various Athletic Club teams. So, IMQ displays in each game a team composed of health auxiliary 130 and four ambulances (one medicalizada). In addition, IMQ has four columns of cardiac rescue in San Mames, thus making him the first football stadium that incorporates the service Integral of Cardioprotección (semi-automatic defibrillators), for the treatment ‘ in situ ’ of cardiac disorders.
