Mexico, 18 feb ( EFE).-A total of 135 people were killed has left the influenza AH1N1 in Mexico since the beginning of the year, which represents a 66.6% increase in the number of deaths in a week, according to data disclosed Friday by the authorities.
The total number of deaths reported H1N1 flu by the health secretariat, Mexico to February 9 was 81.
The unit pointed out that deaths from the H1N1 variety of flu from January 1 to February 16 represent 91% of 149 deaths by the different types of flu circulating in the country.
On the other hand, 4,440 infection with H1N1 flu in the same period, representing 91% of the total of 4.884 cases also have been reported.
Currently in Mexico three seasonal influenza – H1N1, AH3N2 and B – virus circulating, but the H1N1 is the predominant this year.
The H1N1 virus emerged in Mexico between March and April 2009 and, locally, the alert by this evil remained until June 29, 2010, when there were some 1,300 deaths and more than 70,000 cases.
