Laboratories launches Primacol, the first probiotic Lacer to regulate cholesterol on sale in pharmacies.

The pharmaceutical division of laboratories Lacer, Lacer Farma, specialist in the cardiovascular area, expanding its range of products with the launch market this month of February, Primacol, with Lactobacillus AB-Life, a probiotic generation capable of reducing cholesterol in blood by up to 14%. Primacol will be available through the pharmaceutical channel.

With this release, Lacer Pharma expands its range of products and services to prevent, diagnose and treat the main cardiovascular risk factors. According to the Director General of Lacer Farma, José Miguel Noriega, with the launch of Primacol, the first probiotic available in the pharmacy to help control cholesterol, Lacer goes one step further to provide global solutions patient centered health professionals. Primacol is a dietary supplement developed from the combination of three varieties of Lactobacillus plantarum and is effective to regulate both from dietary cholesterol and the endogenousgenerated by the body itself, and which represents 70% of the total.

Primacol is supported by the results of a clinical trial conducted in the Hospital door of iron of Madrid, which found a statistically significant reduction of up to 14% of total cholesterol in adults presenting with between 200 and 300 mg/dl cholesterol levels and who used the product for 12 weeks.

According to the Spanish society of physicians in primary care (SEMERGEN) between 50% and 70% of the Spanish presents cholesterol levels above 200 mg/dl and 20% above 250 mg/dl. Among schoolchildren, high cholesterol levels affect already 22%.
