Manifesto for public health of Madrid.

Since that time, both the workers and the users of the public health system, have expressed our most resounding rejection of the Plan in all possible ways; We have done demonstrations, closures, strikes (labour and hunger), concentrations and mass marches. We have collected and delivered in counseling, almost 1,000,000 signatures of locals who have declared themselves opposed to the approval of the Plan. We have held meetings with the Adviser, Mr. Fernandez-Fuenlabrada and presented proposals for saving and improving management.

However, ignoring the massive protests by citizens and ignoring proposals for professionals, December 27, 2012, the autonomous Government of the Popular Party approved the follow-up act to the 2013 budget using their legitimate majority, something that does not justify the sanitary spoliation which brings as a consequence.

And this situation, PATUSALUD and all the organizations participating in this meeting (SATSE, CCOO, AMYTS, CESIT, UGT, USAE, the Regional Federation of associations of neighbors of Madrid, and the Federation of associations for the defence of the public health, all of which are members of the Bureau in defence of the public healthnext to the medical professional Committee, Committee professional nursing, PSOE, IU and UPyD), manifest their outright opposition to, so unfair and devastating Plan.

Together we will prevent that they will give away 6 hospitals and 27 health centers, used the taxes that we pay all citizens to enrich private companies, reducing the quality of care by reducing staff allocations and that 26 professional categories, from becoming extinct privatizing functions that previously played. And we are going to demand that the hospital Carlos III, the Princess and the Central laundry kept his activity as they do so far. Similarly, we denounce the unjust closure of the Hospital Institute of Cardiology and other medical centers, as well as the disappearance of not medical personnel of the Hospital Puerta de Hierro SERMAS.

Unity of action has always been the basis and goal of our operation, and we believe that it is the best strategy to prevent the disappearance of one of the pillars of the welfare State as it is public health. None of the organizations that we are here present will save efforts, each from its framework for action, to bring to fruition our goal.

Until now, the Government of the CAM and the Ministry of health, are going to have opposite, struggling United in favour of a system based on equity, solidarity and the absence of profit.

Attacks on public health are emerging at different points of our geography. Therefore we call upon workers and users of the public health of Spain to demonstrate in a white tide on February 17 to 12 o’clock, which we make extending to the rest of the State.
