Mario Garcia re-elected President of COCEMFE.

Madrid, June 2012.- last Saturday 16 June there was the extraordinary General Assembly of COCEMFE which became the new State Board of the entity, consisting of 33 counsellors and advisors, and where Mario Garcia with 51% of the votes was appointed President for another term.
Mario Garcia pointed out that in the next four years COCEMFE emphasis will be in ensure the interests and rights of persons with disabilities, especially before the serious economic situation that we suffer, it translates into many autonomous communities in worrying cuts to severely impair our entities, when you can trim other amounts that do not jeopardize the associative fabric ”.
We are an extension of the Administration, since we provide services and care are essential for persons with disabilities, if it did not this group would be isolated and marginalized. Therefore, let’s focus on this period in which the progress achieved in recent decades are not depleted and measures as the last health care reform that put in danger the drug coverage for chronic diseases, transport and the BIV catalog ”, said the President of the Organization after its re-election.
Also, during this mandate is enhance the creation of new committees and working groups with all members of the Organization to address the issues that most concern the collective, such as the economic cuts in health, education and research; and a specific Commission which will be responsible for a renewal of the statutes to which the State Council are represented in all the autonomous communities, among other improvements.
The ordinary General Assembly, which was adopted unanimously the report of activities and the economic balance of 2011 as well as three new entities COCEMFE joining was held prior to the extraordinary Assembly: the Spanish Association of patients with headache (AEPAC), the Spanish Federation of associations of lymphedema (FEDEAL) and the Spanish Rheumatology League (LIRE).
During the inauguration of the same, the President of COCEMFE moved to the director-general of policy support for the disability, Ignacio Tremino, the concern that overwhelms currently disabled entities about the effect that may have on these people the measures undertaken by the Government ”.

Ignacio Tremino also recognized the work of entities as COCEMFE to point out the impossibility of reaching people with disabilities management. For this reason Tremino stressed the importance that there are powerful organizations, consolidated, democratic, and constantly work to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities.
The Spanish Confederation of people with physical disabilities and organic (COCEMFE) is a non-governmental non-profit organization that was formed in 1980. It aims to bring together, strengthening, training and coordinating the efforts and activities of the entities working for people with physical and organic disabilities to defend their rights and improve their quality of life. The entity brings together more than 1,600 organizations divided into regional confederations, State institutions and provincial federations which, in turn, grouped the various local associations.
