Spain, January 2012.- Mutas Union has obtained the label gold of excellence European 500 + awarded for excellence in management, after overcoming the audit carried out satisfactorily by AENOR Club.
This recognition is the highest distinction of quality attached to European level according to the model EFQM, European Foundation for Quality Management, and only about thirty entities in Spain, which now include mutual Union been achieved.
For the achievement of this gold seal has been fundamental work, commitment and involvement of everyone in the organization. Thanks to the efforts of continuous improvement together with the development of the initiative of employees, the mutual has achieved greater efficiency, higher quality in their health and care services and greater customer satisfaction.
The Group of evaluators has positively stressed the mutual management based on orientation to the client, management by processes, consistency in objectives, the involvement and development of employees, innovation, continuous improvement and the ethical approach to the Organization through the development of Corporate Social responsibility.
Union of mutual began the road to excellence with the adoption of the EFQM model, giving priority to the implementation of total quality in 2001. After passing a series of assessments, it was in 2009 when the company’s efforts gave positive results with obtaining the seal 400 + and only two years later, Union of mutual has managed European excellence at its maximum level 500 +.
This distinction has great value to the organization. Not only because of the limited number of companies that possess, but mainly because this seal confirms that the path undertaken by the mutual ten years ago, when it decided to adopt the management EFQM model, it was the right way. Since then, the mutates has improved management, providing better services, and mutualists are more satisfied.
For the Deputy Director of Union of mutual, Teresa Blasco, label 500 + is a great motivation for further progress towards excellence, consolidating the initiatives implemented during the last ten years, improving continuously, to allow for the highest quality and efficiency in preventive, economic and socio-health care we provide to companies and workers ”.
The introduction of the EFQM model has required mutual Union internal assessments very complete, allowing a change in the management system by establishing a management by processes for adding value to the services, the implementation of continuous improvement, the involvement of people and the development of biannual strategic plans.
Also, during these years mutual Union has adopted a code of ethics as well as a mission, vision and corporate values centred on groups of interest.
Every two years, Union of mutual develops the Strategic Plan, which reviewed annually, and for 2011-2013 is based on sustainable profitability, quality and operational efficiency, innovation, effectiveness, transparency and Social responsibility.
Strategic plans for which the entity is governed are allowing expand and improve services as well as maintaining a healthy and positive economic management. One of the factors of growth of the body, in recent years, has been their integration into Corporation Muta, which is currently the first mutual fund group of Spain, protects more than three and a half million workers, with a market share in social security contributions from 23 ’ 47%. This percentage rises to 33 per cent in the CV.
The EFQM model of excellence helps organizations establish a management model that allows them to know each other better themselves to evolve continuously towards excellence and business competitiveness.
It’s a non normative model based on the self-assessment of the management system of the organization using as a guide the criteria of the model. The model enables organizations to conduct a thorough review of the management, as well as having elements of comparison with other organizations.
The EFQM model is based on nine criteria. Five of them are agents facilitators ”, covering all areas of management, and the remaining four reflecting the results ” the organization grows, customers, employees and society. Excellent results are, in turn, directly related to leadership, strategy, and its deployment through persons, partnerships and resources and processes.
