New campaign of early detection of breast cancer in basin.

basin, March 2012.- the campaign of the Ministry of health and Social Affairs for the early detection of breast cancer will start on Monday, March 12, in the basic area of Huete and over the next eight months to reach the rest of regions integrated in the 2012 campaign. The campaign is aimed at all women aged between 45 and 70 years in the province of Cuenca who will receive by email your appointment in order to participate in the campaign for free. The initiative will make port calls in a total of 237 municipalities Cuenca.
To carry out this new campaign of the Ministry of Social Affairs and health been concluded diagnostic, leading Q in Spain services in the medical area, with 38 centres of diagnosis throughout the country, 4 of them with PET technology, and 5 units mobile.
last Friday has been explained at press conference the calendar of this new edition. So have appeared the Coordinator of the peripherals services of the Ministry of health and Social Affairs in basin: D. Carlos Navarro Arribas; the Chief of service of public health, José Ramón Encinas RodrÃguez and the Director of business development of Q diagnostic, Dr. FermÃn Hidalgo.
It should be recalled that breast cancer is the leading cause of mortality for carcinogenic disease in women. The screening mammography or breast is a simple test of X-ray, which is done in a few minutes, without any hassle for women, at the time that allows to detect early any type of injury.
When the tumor is detected at this early stage it is possible to carry out less aggressive treatments. Hence the importance that the Ministry of health and Social Affairs gives this campaign which will start shortly.
It is estimated that one in twelve women padecerá breast cancer throughout his life and the disease is 100 times more common in women than in men. As of 2010, every five days is detected a new case of breast cancer in Cuenca, tumor diagnosed more often in women (20,000 new cases in Spain in 2010).
Despite these figures, 40% of cancer cases can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle and a third can be cured with early diagnosis and proper treatment, according to data that handles the Spanish Association against cancer (AECC).
