On October 6 kicks off the XV Congress national of the society Spanish of Oncology Radioterapica in Castellón. more than 500 specialists will participate in different conferences and symposia.
Madrid, September 2009.- the Spanish society of Oncology will bring together more than 500 specialists in its 15th National Congress.
The novelty of this edition will be the exhibition of the latest news and clinical evidence regarding the clinical benefit that today provides nutritional treatment for the cancer patient.
Radiation oncologists, experts in the field, explain the causes of malnutrition in patients suffering from the disease, as well as the effectiveness of good nutrition and the importance of specific nutritional supplements to cancer.
This Symposium will also, with the presence of a nurse expert in Oncology, which will give his views on the importance of the oncology nursing in monitoring and treatment of patients.
Another of the themes to be highlighted is the elected VMAT, developed technique to drastically reduce time the endocurietherapy cancer treatment and remove traditional constraints, achieving at the same time, deliver the possible minimum dose to the patient.
This technique uses a collimator only multilaminas and a control system with parameters of treatment of great flexibility which allows greater freedom to treat the patients.
About 500 people between medical specialists in Oncology, nurses, technicians in radiotherapy, physicists and psychologists will meet in this meeting which closed its doors on October 9.
