Madrid, April 2012.- the prizes BRAVE, international recognition program for those people that are engaged every day in exercise of caregivers of sick people, have already opened their deadline to submit nominations. This program, developed and implemented by the company biopharmaceutical Shire plc, has been designed to recognize the courage and dedication of non-professional caregivers and all those that regularly provide care to other people in need without receiving any kind of remuneration in Exchange.
Volunteers caregivers are often a kind of unsung heroes and thus the BRAVE Awards want to recognize this important and sometimes little valued work of caregiver family, friends and neighbours carried out to people in need around the world ” said Angus Russell, Shire of President Ejecutivo.
The BRAVE Shire Awards define the caregiver as a caregiver in a regular and constant manner to another person on a totally voluntary basis. This caregiver can be a friend, a neighbour or a relative who dedicated their time, support and compassion to the care of another person is not able to fend for itself. The caretaker is not a health care professional and should not receive any compensation for his work. Therefore not may be nominated doctors, nurses, hospital employees and other workers in the health sector. Nominees must be over 18 years of age before March 15, 2012.
The deadline for submitting nominations for the awards BRAVE 2012 will remain open until 17 June 2012 and will take place simultaneously in 10 countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States). Nominations should be sent via the official website www.ShireBRAVEawards.com. the results will be published on the web in November 2012.
The nomination process is simple, because it is simply to nominate some caregiver deemed that he deserves this recognition and complete the form that is sent online. On the web can find full information on the nominations process.
The finalists will be chosen by a selection Committee composed of employees and not employees of Shire. From among the finalists, Shire employees around the world can then select up to 10 winners. Each of them will receive US $10,000 or the equivalent in your local currency.
There is no restriction on the type of care and the care receiver has no why receive no treatment related Shire or your medications. The program ensures confidentiality and privacy and adheres fully to the Shire privacy policy.
