Opening VI bioethics course in Zaragoza

Centre for training of the College of doctors of Zaragoza host until tomorrow, Friday, September 2, the sixth course of methodology of the teaching and research in bioethics

Zaragoza, 2011-September at the opening of the course involved Rogelio AltisentDirector of the Institute of bioethics and health sciences, the President of the National Confederation of students of medicine Íñigo Noriega and Emilio Sanz, Secretary-General of the Conference of Deans of the faculties of medicine.

As pointed out Emilio Sanz in the opening ceremony, the course is a required annual meeting ”. It is the 6th Edition of a course that has established itself as a place of encounter and of national and international reference for training and discussion on methodological aspects of teaching and research in bioethics, in the degree, the graduate and the continuing education of health professionals.

In particular, the forty participants in this multidisciplinary workshop reflect on how to better convey, how to teach better and how to do research in the field of bioethics.

Objectives of the course

In the words of its Director, Dr. Rogelio Altisent, the course seeks to analyse and discuss national and international experiences in the teaching of bioethics; training in methodology of teaching and evaluation of academic ethics and deontology; form also in methodology of applied bioethics research and discuss projects of development research ”. On the other hand, the course offers guidance to develop a personal resume of bioethics and define priorities in the research of issues ethical prevalent.

Program

The course started with the keynote pedagogical resources for training in values ”, in charge of Pablo González Blasco of the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). The Director of the Institute for humanistic health education development pointed out that humanism is not somewhat parallel to medical training, but it is located in the heart of the training of future medical ”. In fact, since its experience of more than thirty years in Brazil insisted on the need of promote the ability to innovate and incorporate the arts and Humanities as an instrument of a future teaching scenario ”.

During the 6th course two seminars will address such burning issues such as ethics and palliative care research or research in ethics of the management of human resources in health. Another seminar will address how to build a personal CV in bioethics.

Finally, on Friday, September 2, at the closure of the course table, involved the President of the medical school of Zaragoza, Dr. Enrique la Figuera, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Zaragoza, Javier Castillo, and the President of the General Council of colleges of physicians of Spain, Dr. Juan José Rodríguez Sendín.
