Madrid, March 2012.- organizations of retirees and pensioners of eight countries have signed the Declaration of Montevideo, within the framework of international organisations national, regional and European retirees, pensioners and older adults, made the days 6,7 and 8 March 2012 in the city of Montevideo.
The signatories argue that Social Security is a Fundamental human right, laid down in article 22 of the Universal Declaration of human rights of 1948, and the article 9 of the International Covenant of economic, social and cultural rights of 1966 ”.

The Montevideo Declaration has been signed by the representatives of the organizations of older than Spain, Italy, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Paraguay.
