Tegucigalpa, 24 mar ( EFE).-the Permanent Commission of contingencies ( I Copeco) forecast today rainfall for the last days of Holy week in Honduras, although the first four of the period will be much Sun.
Sunday 1 to Wednesday, April 4, the days will be sunny, but the rest of Holy week are recorded rainfall of mild-to-moderate, indicated the Copeco said in a statement.
Rainfall will be felt in most of the Central American country, where the winter is expected to begin between 15 and 20 May next.
Currently, Hondurans are living the warmest season of the year, with temperatures that could reach up to 42 degrees Celsius, mainly in the South, according to reports of the Office of Civil Aviation forecasts.
During the season dry some regions, including the covers to Tegucigalpa, the capital of the country, are affected by drastic rationing of water and forest fires, which so far this year have consumed more than 2,000 acres of forest.
During Holy week, it is expected that more than two million Hondurans, a quarter of the country’s population, mobilized to different tourist sites in greater numbers to the beaches and other resorts of Caribbean, as well as to the South, in the Pacific, as envisaged by the Honduran Institute of tourism.
The Government announced last week that civil servants will have rest throughout Holy week, as a measure to promote domestic tourism. EFE
